Perkins multi-vee belts 2614E017, also known as poly-vee, multi-rib or serpentine belts, are designed to prevent alignment problems and slippage. More often found on newer engines, as the wider belt can be put under greater tension without stretching. The higher tension reduces slip, which increases mechanical efficiency and belt life. When replacing fan belts check the belt tension is correct, together with all the electrical connectors and the battery.
